I Can Do It Learning Passport: helping children and parents to recognise progression in skills for effective learning
The 'I Can Do It' Learning Passport shows children and parents the key skills that their child needs to develop to become an effective learner…and is where children can record, and write about, gaining these new key skills.
Getting children and parents involved
The Passport helps children and parents gain a clearer understanding of a pupil's learning journey… and helps to engage them in that journey.
Learning Journey
Their Learning Journey has 'destinations' that children will love to collect, including:
- I am a collaborator.
- I am a self-manager.
- I am a mistake maker.
- I am a bounce backer.
- I am a reflector.
- I am a problem solver.
And each 'destination' also explains what is involved in achieving that skill.
Destinations
Once destinations have been reached the child can have their passport stamped or ticked, to recognise achieving those key learning skills.
Awards
Children can also earn awards such as badges or stickers, if their Passport is stamped or ticked, showing that they are doing well. Awards can then be used for special treats.
