Children's Centres and Family Hubs: increasing parent uptake and partner/stakeholder involvement

Our Children's Centre literature helps parents fully understand the benefits of attending their local Children's Centre or Family Hub. We use 'parent voice' as the primary marketing tool (word of mouth marketing in contextualised parent case studies).

Our online and printed literature has also been used to influence and educate a variety of audiences, including:

  • Parents
  • Stakeholders
  • Local Authority
  • Partners
  • Lead Agencies.

We have worked with well over 500 Children's Centres.

Examples

We archived our Children's Centre website in 2013, but have now developed this page as we have had some recent interest from Family Hubs, who required more information.

We can't upload examples of the case study literature (or literature containing case studies) due to GDPR guidelines, as it contains old photos and information on parents.

We can offer a free samples pack of literature though, with parent names redacted, (click here to request a samples pack).

Delivery expectations for funded services 2025–26

Looking through the ‘Delivery expectations for funded services 2025–26’, there are several requirements that we can support Family Hubs/Start for Life with. For example:

"We want to ensure all children are ‘school ready’ by reception and are keen for you to provide early support for parents with their children’s home learning environments to help break down barriers to opportunity."

See here, our ‘Reception Ready’ leaflets. We can produce bespoke leaflets for a group of centres/hubs which address the specific needs of your local parents, and can be used in face-to-face meeting, as a resource by professionals and a take-away for parents.

Literature includes...

PARENT CASE STUDIES: parent case studies show how your centre/hub has had a positive impact on a parent/child/families life. They are in the parent's own words, and an account of how a family has benefitted from your centre/hub offer. It's 'word-of-mouth' marketing.

Can be used in online marketing, social media campaigns, as well as in poster campaigns and within literature etc.

PARENT CASE STUDY POSTERS: posters in the community with QR codes linking to 'online' full story case studies. Posters are changed monthly, so five posters would be a five month campaign. Similar to our primary school BOOST campaign.

CHILDREN'S CENTRE ACHIEVEMENT BOOKLETS: highlight what your centre/hub has achieved since it began. Centres/hubs usually distribute to stakeholders, partners, parents, lead agencies etc. Contains real life case studies of parents. children, families and partners.

WHAT WE OFFER BOOKLETS: timetable that can be updated free of charge with map and other centre/hub details.

MILESTONES BOOKLET: detailing the major child developmental milestones and how your centre/hub can support parents/children around these milestones. Can also have QR codes linking to your current offer, so document is not dated.

Free stuff

We offer:

  • free literature updates
  • free support if running a centre/hub BOOST campaign
  • ...and can split costs over two financial years.

We also offer a free samples pack of literature (click here to request a samples pack).

Hannah Holdgate Manager of Plumtree Children's Centre
I was very impressed with the work that Stoneworks undertook for Plum Tree Children's Centre. Andrew has worked with many other Children's Centres and schools. I feel his experience in the education and childcare sectors is invaluable in not only overseeing projects from start to finish, but in producing literature that is moving and engaging, and that in turn inspires and educates the parent audience.

I'm very happy indeed with our case studies and I would like to recommend Stoneworks to any client in the sector.
